If you want to test, use a newly created test account on KDE for this, because this crash will corrupt your akonadi database.

Yes, kaddressbook also crash on my 32bit system.

Downgrading the pkg to the version before 16.04.1 solves the issue for me, building the git version didn't helped.

Yes, I also have the same problem. I found out that the bug has already been reported upstream (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364141).

It's broken for me since 5.6.
Haven't yet tested with frameworks 5.23 which got out of test a few hours ago.

Same here.

Weston/Wayland works.

Plasma/Wayland does not work for me.

I use qBittorrent with Plasma but I have no "undesired autostart" problem. Maybe you have a startup script which run automatically on login (System Settings -> Startup and Shutdown -> Autostart)?

Re: KF 5 & Plasma

since a recent "pacman -Syu" ( 25 june ) I notice a problem on boot with SDDM :

the boot with systemd is OK, no errors, but the graphical screen for SDDM doesn't come automatically, the display is still on "console mode" with systemd messages ( green [OK] lines ),

I have to move the mouse in order to display SDDM screen, it's not normal, it seems that the system waits a mouse move before displaying SDDM graphical screen,

the same bug occurs when I want to logout my plasma session, the SDDM screen doesn't display automatically, I have to move the mouse in order to display SDDM log screen, it's not normal,

I use the oxygen theme, plasma-integration-framework, oxygen-icons, I don't use breeze theme,

I suspect a problem with sddm, or qt5 libs

Re: KF 5 & Plasma

I found the explanation : it was a broken SDDM theme, the "Elarun" theme,

If I choose another SDDM theme ( like "Brise" ) then all is Ok,

so there is a broken theme in SDDM since the upgrade of Qt5 ( 25 june )

Re: KF 5 & Plasma

Hi!

On snapping a moving window to (left or right) screen edge after snapping window's border is "ingested" by the edge. How to prevent this ingestion?

Thanks! I wasn't sufficiently smart in English search terms as you are smile
At any case all I have found is old (and rejected) bug and outdated kwin scripts.
So, has anybody found the way to resolve the issue?

Re: KF 5 & Plasma

I'd like to install plasma 5.6 but am not sure which package/group to install. I'd like to be able to do a "pacman -Rns" to completley remove all of the installed plasma-stuff with all their dependencies at any time i want, without leaving traces behind from plasma installation.
Should i go with plasma-desktop, plasma or plasma-meta?

Re: KF 5 & Plasma

plasma-desktop is the absolute barebones shell only, plasma is the group that contains the bells and whistles to make it a complete environment with themes and the default window manager (kwin_x11) and the few c++ based plasmoids. As regards to Rns-ing everything it doesn't matter if you use the plasma group or the meta package. For the -Rns case the end result should be the same. The meta-package has the added bonus that a new dependency will be automatically pulled in on update.  Not sure if our dependency resolution is up to snuff and simply installing the plasma group will pull the necessary kf5 libs as well, but I trust arojas to have done a good job here. If you notice anything not working that you expect to, you might have to pull the kf5 group as well.

Well, then i go with the meta-package, and kf5 as well.
My last Arch install i did a mess and had to manually remove all the applications one by one. That took some time.

Thank you.

Oh yes, but it was this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Cr … and_groups that made me confused, didn't really understand the difference between meta- and group install.
Everything worked installing the meta and kde-applications-meta. Tried it out, and uninstalled it within a half an hour smile
Not a single trace left behind. Worked like charm.
