Wifi-menu problem after fresh install

Hello everybody, I've tried looking in other threads about this issue and haven't had any luck solving this.

Basically I have attempted to put Arch Linux onto my HP Pavilion laptop following the beginners guide to installing Arch.

The process has gone somewhat smoothly, I've set up the partitions, installed, configs etc and I downloaded the 'iw wpa_supplicant dialog' as it tells me to.

However I've managed to boot into Arch onto laptop and enter 'wifi-menu' but it just comes out with:

'Scanning for networks......failed'
'No networks found'

I'm unsure on what I should do about this in order to make it connect to the internet. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

We have had a similar problem a few days ago:

I've attempted the solution on that thread, I made some progress as it actually scans for networks now which seems to be a good sign, however when I attempt to connect to my network it gives me an error that says:

job for netctl@wlo1\x2dBTHub\x2dGJ53.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status "netctl@wlo1\x2dBTHub\x2dGJ53.service"" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

When I enter:

"systemctl status "netctl@wlo1\x2dBTHub\x2dGJ53.service""

It comes up with:

netctl@wlo1\x2dBTHub\x2dGJ53.service - Networking for netctl profile wlo1-BTHub-GJ53

That's the problem:

Set your interface down through

ip link set <blabla> down

and *then* try to connect with netctl.
