Hi,
we have a proxy that uses digest auth.
Since many applications seem not to be able to use that, I want to install a proxy locally which uses basic authentification.
The local proxy then shall authenticate itself at the parent proxy.
That way I could tell every application to use localhost as proxy.
I tried squid an popilo, but both seem not to be able to authenticate themself via digest.
I also tried to use the kde systemwide settings but they don't seem to work either.
Alternatively: Is there any ftp-client that can use proxies with digest authentification? (Filezilla does not seem so)

squid can handle digest auth, and privoxy can just forward the authentication along

squid can handle digest auth,
How?
cache_peer ... login=user:pass
Does not work since it's only basic auth
and privoxy can just forward the authentication along
That will result in the same behaviour as when I use the parent proxy direct, right? That is not what I want.
I want to skip the manual authentification...
