Over the last couple of weeks, whenever I try to play fullscreen videos in (v. 47.0), they play for about 5 seconds then freeze.
If I then I wriggle/move the mouse, the video will resume playing, but as soon as I stop moving the mouse, the video freezes again. Videos play fine if I don't full screen 'em.
Full screen videos play fine on Chrome, and I can play full screen vids on Kodi and MythTV and other video apps just fine.
I have disabled flash completely, and Firefox is set to use HTML5 wherever possible. I've disabled adblocking. I've also tried using a default/new profile. All videos do this, even 240p.
Hardware: Intel NUC 5i5RYK, with latest intel drivers. Gnome-shell - tried both wayland and X.
[EDIT: It's not just youtube, same symptoms on vimeo).
[EDIT 2: Looks like I'm not the only one: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/commen … t_moving/)

Kernel 4.6.1 and 4.6.1 are suspicious.
Temporary solved by one of these solutions : -
1.Using Chrome.
2. Using LTS kernel.
3. Avoid using flashplugin in firefox.
4. Patch the 4.6.2 kernel with
- https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/79567/ and
- https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/80857/ and
- https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/94003/

Thanks. Solved / worked around by removing xf86-video-intel as per the following thread:

I had exactly the same problem. Simply changing SNA acceleration to UXA has fixed this issue for me. - Kernel 4.6.4-1 and enable_fbc=1 -
$ cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
EndSection

I have the same problem but in Wayland seems to work well. Firefox 47, kernel 4.6.4, Intel Broadwell Graphics 5500.
In the latest update for xf85-video-intel changed to "DRI" "3", I don't know if I could change to UXA or other.

Thank you so much! I'm on Fedora, and removing xorg-x11-drv-intel solved the Firefox issue but also https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97818 .
