"No Qt 5.8 for me :-( Unfortunately our Wayland integration broke and I don't want to go back to X11, so no Qt 5.8."
Can Arch stay with Qt 5.7 until the 5.8 bugs are fixed, possibly?

After a bit of compiling I found that the wayland session runs rather well when using the beta version of qwayland. (used an edited PKGBUILD for qt5-wayland, everything else release version)
Seems the issues got introduced by a change in Qt 5.8 rc.

This information can be very important to help fixing the issue, please add it to the upstream report https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-58423

I tried the AUR package qt5-wayland-git but it didn't help. Could you post the edited package build that worked please?

Using GitOut's beta packagebuild, I can get a working wayland session. However, now plasma elements such is the kickoff application launcher, tooltips, and notifications don't have shadows, just a plain edge.

Does 'menubar style' option working for you? I tried both 'Title bar button' and 'Application menu window' but the menubar is still there.

You have to enable the appmenu service manually (already fixed in final version)
