Hey fellow Archers!
I tried to get libressl working when the portable version was first released, that didn't work out.
Just gave the recent 2.5.0 release another shot today out of curiosity.
So far all I had to rebuild was curl for pacman, and rsync for abs.
Anyone else got experience with this? And are there any other packages I might/need to rebuild, or anything else you noticed in a desktop environment?
Also, did I miss anything or are there plans for Arch to switch to libressl? Since it is mentioned here, where it says: "...Has since replaced OpenSSL in a few linux distros (Arch, Void, etc.)"

Don't think so...

Obviously, I was just pointing out the slide on the openbsd site. Maybe they refer to an arch fork, I don't know.
Anyway, I already ran into some problems I don't have the time to investigate right now.
I wasn't able to start up kde anymore, tried to find the problem, got up to recompiling postgresql in order for qt5 to start compiling.
That got stopped by a built in message that libressl isn't supported by qt5, terminating the compilation.
I did some search, but all I found was some patches for older versions of qt5 and reference to missing functions in libressl. (here and here)
I probably could dig some more, but my curiosity is satisfied for now.

Libressl is not supported on Arch its only in the AUR (User Repository) thus there's no documentation on the arch wiki....

SSH2 uses the SSL library. OpenSSH also breaks:
>OpenSSL version mismatch. Built against 100020af, you have 20000000
Anyone else know of any other packages that need to be rebuilt?

Who thinks it would be beneficial to switch to LibreSSL? OpenBSD folks wrote it, so that lends credence... And Arch already uses OpenNTPD and OpenSSH - so why not LibreSSL?

I am going to close this old thread. It really does not belong in a support subforum. It may be reasonable to start this in a discussion subforum
