I am unable to get my wifi working:
When trying to do "set wlp4s0 up", the interface is still down; the program terminates without any output. The module is rtl8723be - the same as https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=222517 but without any errors.
wpa_gui gives "Could not get status from wpa_supplicant".
The output of "lsmod | grep rtl"

Have you seen https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wi … Frtl8723be?
I see that the firmware power-saving is enabled for your module, perhaps this is causing the problem.

I tried it as explained in your link, but nothing changed.
When executing "ip link set wlp4s0 up" "dmesg -w" does not give any output, whereas "journalctl -f" does the following
Jan 30 22:18:26 oksana sudo[899]: lap : TTY=pts/0 ; PWD=/home/lap/nobackup ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/usr/bin/ip link set wlp4s0 up
Jan 30 22:18:26 oksana sudo[899]: pam_unix(sudo:session): session opened for user root by (uid=0)
Jan 30 22:18:27 oksana kernel: IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlp4s0: link is not ready
Jan 30 22:18:27 oksana sudo[899]: pam_unix(sudo:session): session closed for user root
and after again "ip link set wlp4s0 up":
Jan 30 22:18:46 oksana sudo[902]: lap : TTY=pts/0 ; PWD=/home/lap/nobackup ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/usr/bin/ip link set wlp4s0 up
Jan 30 22:18:46 oksana sudo[902]: pam_unix(sudo:session): session opened for user root by (uid=0)

Try disabling IPv6

I tried it by:
Adding a file in '/etc/sysctl.d/40-ipv6.conf
net.ipv6.conf.wlp4s0.disable_ipv6 = 1
and uncommenting one line in '/etc/hosts/'
#::1 localhost.localdomain localhost
and changing in '/etc/dhcpcd.conf'
#slaac private
#noipv4ll
noipv6rs
noipv6
but the device still does not change
