I am using ndiswrapper 1.12 from the pacman repositories, and kernel26-188.8.131.52-1 from the repositories as well. The new ndiswrapper has seriously reduced my connection speeds, to the point that I can't get down speeds above 20 kb/s. Occasionally, when I am using firefox, or doing something that would normally require a lot of bandwidth (i.e. downloading something, or running pacman) the system will freeze. Any thoughts?
Happens to me every so often too - 0.13 is out, so I will update and see what happens.
Ndiswrapper is one of those flaky things - it's doing something it shouldn't be doing (wrapping the windows API) so sometimes it fails... I just live with it. /shrug
Yeah, I updated to 1.13 and I'm still having the problem. I'm wondering if it may have to do with the kernel, or maybe there's just still a bug in 1.13 that's left over from 1.12 that they didn't work out.
what wireless card do you have? what chipset especially?
I always had problems with ndiswrapper with my rt2500 pci card.
My solution was to buy a 20m ethernet cable.
Unfortunately, I don't have that option, as I am at about 4 different locations with my notebook every day, and the only way for me to connect in a couple of them is wirelessly. That's why this is so frustrating. The sense I am getting, however, is that I will simply need to wait until ndiswrapper and/or Ralink drivers support the new kernel, or vice versa.
Our best bet for wireless is to wait for rt2x00 to mature, or compile your own kernel for rt2500.
rt2x00 has been reported to work to varying degrees. There's instructions on the wiki here:

ndiswrapper 1.16 doesn't work for me
It shows up in the interfaces, but nothing else works (no iwconfig wlan0 scan and it doesn't show up in the ifconfigs)
rt2x00 doesn't work for me either. It just won't get an address on dhcpcd wlan0 when I know the network is up
What did work: (ungh!) set SMP to off with ABS on whatever kernel is in current (remember to set the md5sums in the pkgbuild) and recompiled. Then installed the rt2500 beta 3 (the older versions did not even compile!) from source
and it worked

rt2x00 cvs is available now in [unstable] it's improving drastically, so if it didnt work last week PLEASE report a bug on the rt2x00 forums, and it will probably work again a few days later. I'm updating the package every few days.
rt2500 has since had SMP support added to CVS, and there are packages in [unstable] which include this support, so you can use rt2500 on the vanilla arch kernel.
