Cannot install VMware player

Hello!

I am following vmware wiki page.
I've installed all required dependencies and current release vmware player with bundle script.

Invoking player with

vmplayer

results in window with message 'Before you can run VMware, several modules must be compiled and loaded into the running kernel'. I click install and the errror pops out.

Here is the log file

Re: Cannot install VMware player

Maybe you're facing the same issue as this one:

Here the quote:

I assumed that /etc/init.d is the default setting and just hit an enter. Just now realized that I should try type it there. Big mistake. Thanks ganlu, if you don't write it that /etc/init.d actually is the directory it needs, maybe I'll never try it again with it. Big mistake. F*.

Re: Cannot install VMware player

It is strongly recomended to use kvm/qemu or similar instead of vmware unless you *must* use vmware for some reason.
