Graysky, thanks for your answer. Is there a chance to get the 304xx driver working again (fixed by upstream maintainers) within the next weeks?

As I said in #2950, my system still gives me the "driver already registered" error with linux-ck-kx 4.9.5-1 and nvidia-304xx-ck-kx 304.134-2 and doesn't start X, so the linux-ck kernel is not usable for me. With the mainline kernel (linux 4.8.13-1) and nvidia driver (nvidia-304xx 304.134-1) everything works.
Do you think this problem hasn't to be fixed?

It does work for the 340xx now (thanks for the fix!), so maybe the same patch can be applied to the 304xx drivers to make it work as well?

Maybe, but if so, why doesn't this affect users of the ARCH kernel and 304xx?
@indiana - can u try booting into 3.9.5-1-ARCH with the 304xx driver?

I've now installed testing/linux 4.9.5-1 and testing/nvidia-304xx 304.134-3 from the testing repo and I get the same error (driver nvidia already registered).

@indiana - Open a FS against this package. Can you verify that the same patch from 340 applies to 304 and fixes the problem?

I'm having a weird problem. I have MAXIMUS VIII HERO [1] and I have my phone (android nexus 5x) charging on the PC usually connected to the USB 3.1 USB-C port. When I use the ARCH default kernel the phone charge normally "charging rapidly". When I use the -ck kernel compiled from AUR with only BFS as default the phone says the same thing but doesn't charge. It seems weird as from what I can tell the .config are not relevant to USB modules.
Anyone got any idea?

Graysky, I'm just a user. I don't have a clue what "FS" is. Also I have no idea how to apply any mysterious patches. I'm no kernel developer.

@indiana - Patching a file is not a developer task; based on the feedback in your other thread and the open flyspray linked therein with a suggested fix, I applied it and updated the package in the repo and AUR. Please test and report back.

Since last update yesterday to the following versions:
repo-ck/linux-ck-kx 4.10.1-1 (ck-kx)
The Linux-ck-kx kernel and modules with the ck1 patchset featuring MuQSS CPU scheduler v0.152 AMD K7/K8 optimized.
repo-ck/nvidia-304xx-ck-kx 304.135-2 (ck-kx)
NVIDIA drivers for linux-ck, 304xx legacy branch. AMD K7/K8 optimized.
the system hangs again with "driver already registered" and doesn't start X. Please fix. Thanks!
Edit:
The mainline kernel (core/linux 4.9.11-1 (base) and extra/nvidia-304xx 304.135-1) boots without any problems.

I didn't refer to nvidia-304xx-ck (that was indiana I believe).. My issue was with nvidia-340xx-ck (nvidia-340xx-ck-core2 to be precise), for which there isn't any updated package available (yet) in [repo-ck]. I'll post to the AUR pages in the future, my apologies.
