I'm looking to get out of the "my hermetically sealed WiFI access point does strange things and I have no idea why" mode and run my own AP.
Ideally, I'd like a PCI card that fits into my home server, that can speak 802.11ac, and can be an Access Point, and that has an external antenna or antennas that can be placed a few feet away from the metal box of the server. And, obviously, that works with Arch.
Any suggestions? I've been looking and looking, and made the odd wrong purchase so far because none of those guys ever document what their devices can really do under Linux.
