Ok, i've found the problem; it's mainly with bi-gpu system: the file nvidia-drm-outputclass.conf is not number prefixed, so is loaded at the end (after any 00-xxx.conf file) so the ModulePath is set first to /usr/lib/nvidia/xorg which break with intel GPU. I will rename nvidia-drm-outputclass.conf to 10-nvidia-drm-outputclass.conf with the next nvidia*-utils packages, so with a proper indexed config file (after 10) you can override the ModulePath from the nvidia package one.
Nvidia/bumblebee/optimus wiki should be updated.

Great. I was just about to confirm that setting the ModulePath (with paths in the same order as hamelg mentioned, as the order seems to be important) in my 20-nvidia.conf file worked.

This is still an issue. I updated my Kodi installation last week, Kodi failed to start (could not find an EGL display). Changing the module path as suggested in this thread fixes the issue.

Can you guys check out the packages in [testing] that I just pushed with a fix and give me feedback?

After upgrading nvidia-utils (387.34-3 -> 387.34-4) Cinnamon kept crashing immediately after login from LightDM.
Downgrading seems to resolve my issue.
Not really friendly with debug tools, if you tell me which commands to run to obtain dump/log/etc, I might be of help.

Newest package (387.34-5) seems stable.
