Cannot Mount Samba Shares On Server or inside network Outside Domain

Hello,

So we currently have a linux server running samba as an ADDC with kerberos authorization. It also forwards traffic from our main router to the client PC's inside our network.

Odd thing is we can't seem to mount samba shares outside the network from any of the clients or the server directly. We have multiple samba shares setup inside with no problems.

Trying to list shares on a server using smbclient gives the following (smbclient -L myshare.net):Connection to myshare.net failed (Error NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT).

Also getting a mount error(115) when trying to mount it using the cifs protocol.

All other packets seem to be being forwarded properly, any ideas?

Many ISP block SMB. Google found me this.

Azure: Summary of ISPs that Allow / Disallow Access from Port 445

Whether or not your ISP is Comcast, this list will give you an idea of what ports might be blocked by your ISP.

Comcast: Blocked Internet Ports List

Use telnet to test the connection. Apparently I'm blocked too.

% telnet myshare.net 445
Trying 208.91.197.27...

Re: Cannot Mount Samba Shares On Server or inside network Outside Domain

Thanks for your reply.

We are with BT but we know they don't block SMB as we found out it works when we switch to our ADSL backup line.

We also have a server on another site behind the same router type which is experiencing the same problem so everything seems to point pretty hevilly to the fact that it's not related to the server but to the router.

Thanks for the help though! smile
