I also have a problem with 15.4: I use dual monitor setup and after the update the settings regarding the monitors are not working. Basically the position of the monitors is reversed and I cannot change it, it is just slightly annoying moving cursor right and appearing on the left monitor smile Anyone knows of a solution or is the fix expected soon?
Thanks

Use the "Per-output options" of xrandr to switch the signal on the outputs : http://unix.stackexchange.com/a/10593

man xrandr

       Per-output options

       --output output
Selects an output to reconfigure. Use either the name of the output or the XID.

       --left-of, --right-of, --above, --below, --same-as another-output
Use  one  of these options to position the output relative to the position of another output. This allows convenient tiling of outputs within the screen.  The position is always computed relative to the new position of the other output, so it is not valid to say
              --output a --left-of b --output b --left-of a.

Re: Deepin Desktop Environment on Arch

Anyone got A2DP audio working over bluetooth with Arch/Deepin .... I have tried the ArchWiki  Bluetooth/Headphone guides, but still no joy in getting an audio device to show in Deepin Control Panel
I can Pair/Connect fine with the Deepin Gui ..

Thanks

In DEs other than Plasma I sometimes need to use pavucontrol and/or paprefs to 'adjust' settings for my BT speaker column. YMMV.

Re: Deepin Desktop Environment on Arch

How can I open the deepin file manager as root?
Or if I can add open as root option to the context menu that will be even better!

Re: Deepin Desktop Environment on Arch

Hi All,

Back to having Font issues as I had to un-install  freetype2-infinality  as it is now not maintained, and various software would not run due to an API change.
Supposedly the fonts are meant to look better with improvements to the base freetype2 package.

However after following the guide https://gist.github.com/cryzed/e002e705 … nt-1967788 The fonts still look horrible.

Anyone got nice fonts without using infinality?

Use what? Your statement makes no sense ... are you missing a link, or something?

What's the round VPN button about ?
At the bottom of the System Control Panel on the right-hand side.
(I know what a VPN is.)

Re: Deepin Desktop Environment on Arch

Looks like we all don't know. Never mind.
I was forced to install another Linux distro because of the shītty driver situation with AMDGPU and AMDGPU PRO.
When I've sold the two RX 480 lemons I'll reinstall Arch.

Re: Deepin Desktop Environment on Arch

Hi All,

Just done another update (pacman -Syu) and now I do not have a wallpaper on the desktop at all ... black screen.
The launcher works ok and all apps and the hot corners work ...

The volume icon is missing from the launcher bar as well ...

Seems like things are not tested well before being released .. wink

EDIT: I went into control-panel and toggled between icon sets and the desktop came back. The volume icon is still missing though.

Yes, volume is there .. problem is only in Fashion mode

EDIT: Confirmed this bug on two different PC's
EDIT2: Note, there is no right-click menu on the desktop any more. So there are seemingly two bugs.

Re: Deepin Desktop Environment on Arch

ok, seems deepin is going backwards again .. makes you not want to do a system update.
I went away from my PC, then logged back in on the session window, and now the desktop is black. Nothing works. Cursor only.  I have tried updating to very latest, but nada ...

... I could not even call up a tty, so had to go back to grub and boot to console only. From there I installed XFCE so I at least had a desktop. What is going on? !!!

Is it safe to remove the ~/.config/deepin directory to see if it is some old settings?

Hey,

This cursor blinking issue happened to me in an Apricity installation on a laptop. Don't know why but it was a matter of switching to tty1 (Alt-F1) and there it was. In my case it looks like it has something to see with how Apricity handles terminals. Today after the last upgrade it is ok.

Regards,
PA

Well, glad it worked for you, but like I said, I could not get to any tty, yet alone the desktop.

Re: Deepin Desktop Environment on Arch

Trying to debug this further:

If I start "startdde" by putting "exec startdde" in ~/.xinitrc (instead of via session in lightdm), then the same black screen results.

This black screen issue only seems to be on my work PC which has NVIDIA graphics ... my home laptop with INTEL graphics works fine on the latest updates.

I am feeling very alone on this issue .... can anyone help.

EDIT: I have placed a bug report here https://github.com/linuxdeepin/develope … issues/213

Re: Deepin Desktop Environment on Arch

Yes, having a black screen issue. Startup sound plays, cursor shows and Discord opens (set to open on startup), but the desktop is completely black. Hot corners appear to work somewhat.

Re: Deepin Desktop Environment on Arch

 exec gsettings reset com.deepin.dde.display brightness

I did it from my secondary desktop. It should close terminal when just entered, but no problem... it solved mine with nvidia hardware.

Found it at GitHub

Re: Deepin Desktop Environment on Arch

Yep, fixed my black screen issue too...

Now the next issue:

Does anyone know how to set the default application for PDF's, currently it tries to open in LibreOffice instead of evince ... there is no PDF category in the Default Application section in Settings.
Also, right clicking a pdf file and clicking properties, does not do anything ..
