I'm looking toinstall wpa_suplicant from AUR and have just been reading the comments on the package page. The last one is:
Comment by: stimpy on 20060531 [08:41:38]
updated to wpa_supplicant v0.4.9 and madwifi-ng v0.9.0 (first release)
but I can't find madwifi-ng in AUR. Am I right that it is missing or have I missed it?
If madwifi-ng isn't in AUR should I just use the latest sources from the madwifi site or should I use a specific version?

madwifi-ng is in [unstable]
currently, it's a more recent SVN snapshot, I've only just been alerted to their release, so I will make a package for that and put it in [extra].

Am I looking in the wrong place then? If I go here http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php and search for madwifi I get the original madwifi and wpa_suplicant, no ng.
I've got the binary package installed using pacman but I need the source release so I can build wpa_suplicant.

[unstable] is an official repository. you'll have more luck lookin on cvs.archlinux.org if you want the PKGBUILD.

Search here:

You'll need to add/uncomment the unstable repo in your pacman.conf to install it with pacman.

Thanks for the tips, I've no idea if I've done it the "correct" way but I'm now running wpa on top of madwifi-ng.
Off to celebrate :-)
