Hello all, this is my first time install Arch Linux, I am moving on from Ubuntu; for the life of me I can not get WiFi on my laptop, and there is no Ethernet port on it so I can not install arch Linux.
When trying to ping any websites I get the message: "Name or service not known"
My Network controller is: Broadcom limited bcm4352 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter [14e4:43b1] (rev 03)
Please advise me on what to do next, and ask for more information because I know I have not provided enough. Thanks for your time, Nate

You'll need to install the driver for your card: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Broadcom_wireless

Even after tethering my android phone to my laptop I still do not have an internet connection. It then tells me that if I need to do an offline installation i need to "If you have neither, you'll need to first install the base-devel group during installation. Then, use another Internet-connected computer to
download linux-headers and the driver tarball from the AUR, and install them in that order." However I do not know what to install a "base-devel." It would be lovely if you could walk me through that or point me out to a guide.

The last link that you sent me expect me to have an internet connection (to use git clone) which I do not have.

You require an Internet connection to install Arch; either on the target machine, or another Linux machine where you can build the package for your wireless driver and then copy it across.

As mentioned in the second thread, can you elaborate on what it is that confuses you? Something else you might want to make sure, is that your hardware isn't disabled with a hardware switch, like e.g. was the case in this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=194255
You might also want to replicate and post the outputs from the thread I linked to here, make sure to use [ code ] tags when posting the outputs of relevant commands.

U can install driver with necessary dependencies before installation using usb. If u have free usb and computer with arch (or ur friend has one) then it will be quite simple to make it. I personally did so.

nate779 hasn't posted in this thread in over a week, so he may have given up. If not, maybe an old post of mine from a year ago will be useful.

The post refers to The Beginners Guide, which has been merged into the Installation guide, but I'm sure all the necessary tools are there.
The key point is, I was able to install the necessary wireless software while running the installation disk before rebooting into the new Arch system.
