Problem with permission on Pendrive [Solved]

Hi,

I am not understanding, previously when I connected the pendrive in the port, this gave me permission to write, currently is not allowing, I can not paste or copy anything into the pendrive and create a folder. The pendrive is formatted for fat32. I use Archlinux with Xfce. I searched for solutions elsewhere and did not find it.

Re: Problem with permission on Pendrive [Solved]

How do you mount it? What are the permissions on the parent directory?

Check wheter it's mouted read only. If so, try whether hdparm can write to it. If not, the key is dying and the firmware changed it into read-only mode to protect the present data as much as possible.

Re: Problem with permission on Pendrive [Solved]

Thanks for helping. I was able to solve the problem. It was the permission for the partition type. Observing the file udevil.conf, I see the permission for vfat was fmask=0133 e dmask=0022 and for exfat umask 0077. I formatted the pendrive with exfat and it worked.
