I just installed Arch on my laptop using a USB drive. The laptop is a presario cq60. When I boot with the live USB I have no problem using the wireless. However, when I boot without it, it can't detect any wireless networks. I thought this might be a driver issue but The driver ath5k is in use and using lspci -k confirms that.
Can anyone help?

Connect manually and see where it is failing: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wi … nual_setup

I've actually been trying manually.
ip link show wls1 gives
3: wls1: <NO-CARRIER, BROADCAST, MULTICAST, UP> with more output. I'm having to keep things short because I'm on mobile. Sorry.
Then using it to scan it shows nothing. Doing the same shows all networks if I booted from the live USB.

Have you installed the "dialog"? If yes, in the terminal type wifi-menu or sudo wifi-menu. Now you can connect to an internet network.

The nobody can help you - we cannot remote-detect the problems on your side.

Edit: you could make use of tethering, if that helps?
