Oracle XE Database on Arch

Hello,

I've dowloaded oracle-xe-10.2.0.1-1.0.i386.rpm and extracted it with rpmextract to / as root. Added a user oracle with group dba and chowned and set permissions on the oracle directory.

However if I try to run oracle-xe start nothing happens - even no error message.

So, has anyone managed to get Oracle Database Express running on Arch yet? I would appreciate any hints

edit: maybe a howto for php+oracle (instantclient)?
