MSI GT72S 6QE Dominator Pro G. Just a beast of a laptop. Also have a Stinkpad T400, with a 64G ssd drive in it and 4Gb's of ram. It does alright. Actually better than alright. I don't need anything for space on it as I'm using ssh to do simple file sharing between the two. (ok there may be a media server running as well as some other goodies)

Arch runs quick and stable and without issues on both machines. Arch is the only OS installed on the T400, however the MSI does have an obscene amount of drive space and I have several 'distros' on several partitions. Oh yeah, perfectly functioning 60 M/sec wifi connection on both easily up and working!

Currently having latest Thinkpad T470P with:
core i7-7700HQ
32GB RAM
Samsung SSD 960EVO 500GB
GeForce 940MX runing on Bumblebee

Currently everything that is crucial works (LAN, WiFi, sound, video outputs and acceleration, most inputs and outputs) but with few exceptions:
1. Sound from docking station does not work - it does not detect any new sound output and it is completely mute.
2. VAAPI video acceleration does not work - gives blank screen on gstreamer, so do not install gstreamer-vaapi package. Anyway 4k 60fps videos are running smoothly (with a mild usage of the CPU) and additional packages for video acceleration in this case are not needed.

this post was written when kernel 4.13 was on it's way and regarding the release notes new Realtek drivers are included in upcoming version, so I hope that problem with docking station soon will be solved.

Current kaby lake edition. Everything works out of box on Zen kernel 4.13. Only issue is Have to suspend once to tame torrent of interrupts from touchpad.
Using gnome desktop, Intel driver.

I am using the Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15ACL.

A bit cheap (I don't have much, but proud to have Arch Linux running stable). WiFi was a bit difficult, by which I mean the WiFi card's chipset (RTL8821AE) didn't want to play well with NetworkManager. I eventually moved over to systemd-networkd and WiFi is MUCH more stable, I am however planning on switching over to an intel card after doing the research as to whether or not my laptop is whitelisted.

I really like Thinkpads. I don't know where you bought yours or how much you paid, but I found one online for USD$338 - only one left. AMD based 8 gig RAM 1Tb drive. Amazing price. I don't need one, or I'd buy it. My Thinkpads are all older, but they get along very well with linux.

Recently got it used off of Ebay @ $120. Currently using it for work/attempting programming and learning Linux.
Dual-booting Arch and Windows 7 for 3 weeks now.
The only hardware issues I had so far were Wi-Fi adapter related; this Centrino is notorious for being picky with N-band
networks on Linux and Windows.
I had to configure modprobe.d to disable N-band. Otherwise, everything is smooth here.

Writing from a Thinkpad x230 (I guess it was already posted here): it works like a charm with Arch -- and with other distro in general.

Everything works out of the box, for the fingerprint reader you just need `fprintd`

Asus X53E-RS32, 6GB of RAM, Core i3 2370. I've been using it as my main web browsing and gaming install without any problems. Works great with everything from Arch to Gentoo.

I would say that's a good find. I bought two T420's on ebay over a year ago, one at about $100, the other at about $125. One has 8gig RAM, no bluetooth. The other, 6gig RAM, bluetooth, but has one row of dead pixels near the bottom of the screen. Replaced the original hard drives with 120gig SSD's, altough the originals were good. I don't remember which Thinkpad was cheaper, but I'm happy with both of them. They both work very well with linux, one with Arch, the other with Manjaro (an Arch derivative). BTW, batteries on both were excellent when I received the laptops.

Sound, WIFI, ethernet, graphics, bluetooth, touchpad, trackpoint etc. all work out-of-the-box . KDE's battery monitor sometimes gets confused, though not always. (Possibly it doesn't expect to deal with two batteries - but that's just a suspicion.)

Most hotkeys work out-of-the-box. However, 1 does nothing and 2 aren't recognised at all. The journal keeps telling me to report an unrecognised hotkey event (but the developers' mailing list suggests no responses to earlier reports, so I've not bothered). Bit disappointing about the other 2 keys especially. Laptops have few enough keys without losing some.

Webcam I'm not very hopeful about since Linux thinks it is a keyboard. However, it thinks everything is a keyboard, including many non-keyboard things which work OK. So I may be being unduly pessimistic.

I thought I had a non-working LED. However, I now think it is probably just a red dot.

However, problems identifying the key to get into BIOS did lead me to a rather scary encounter with Concertina or whatever its name is, before I managed to find the power button and switch it off. And I certainly wish it did not come with a Windows registration key in the firmware and Richmond's fingers in the ROM.

Panasonic Let's Note CF-RZ6

This is a hybrid laptop/tablet with the screen flipping over the keyboard.
The Let's note series is made only for the Japanese market, and is derivated from the though book for office work.
It's quite though and japanese quality, made in Japan.

This is all working perfectly under Arch :-)

Standard stuff:
everything works out of the box, include Bluetooth, WIFI and Mobile Broadband, SD car reader ...
all the special keys (like sound controller and wireless controller) work out of the box as well

Tablet mode:
the keyboard is lock automatically once flipped over
best experience is with GNOME

Everything just works... mostly. Couldn't figure out how to utilize that one special multimedia button above the keyboard, but I can live without it.
And never got around to testing out the 56k modem that is present in my configuration

This machine, even though it has SATA HDD interface, always works in IDE compatibility mode; there's no setting to put the controller in AHCI mode anywhere.

Got it for free broken. Had to reflow GPU that desoldered itself. Upgraded it to (just as trashy) slightly broken old 60Gig SSD I had laying around.
All this, coupled with Arch, made it suprisingly tolerable leisure/browsing/typewriter machine; it would even play youtube in Chromium, although it maxes out at 480p... and sometimes I play Neverball on it
I haven't precisely measured the boot time, but it's quite bearable too, I'd estimate it at about 20 seconds to the login screen. It was much slower with the hard drive.
This machine also attracted my attention because it has a good old PCMCIA slot in the side, while itself being "relatively" modern.
That means that I can mess about with SCSI stuff and all kinds of other cards within the comfort of my bleeding edge Linux, which, surprisingly to me, still supports all that
