grub requires user interaction after failed boot?

I am in the position of creating disk images that will be put into custom hardware in planes and ships.  We are using Arch Linux for this!

The power can be pulled at any time on these nodes, so we are taking precautions to verify that the nodes always come back up.  This includes most mount points being mounted RO during normal operation.

In the past I have had issues with servers rebooting and "getting stuck" at the grub screen, requiring user interaction.
This is a page from hetzner describing the problem:
https://wiki.hetzner.de/index.php/Grub2_recordfail/en

The things they reference appear to be patches in the debian/ubuntu version of Grub however.

What I need to verify is:
- would this behavior ever happen in the version of grub2 in the arch repos?
- if so, how can we disable it so that no user interaction is ever needed to boot
