KMS works only on linux-lts, no longer works in main

Hello,
I like to use Sway as WM when I can but lately I haven't had any luck using my monitor's native resolution outside X.
I don't really know which update might have broken my setup because I had been running my pc around a week without shutdown already, probably a lot longer.

This was about two months ago, and I've poked around my GRUB and mkinitcpio a lot since. I just can't. find. any. information. online on this problem. I know it works on LTS but not on CK or main. That's the extent of my knowledge right now.

I've already checked out what my journal logs up until my drives get decrypted by my password (My PC used to get the resolution right by the time it asked for my password. /boot is it's own not-encrypted partition but root is encrypted). There doesn't seem to be any obvious reason why KMS doesn't work

I had generated my own EDID for my initramfs according to the wiki, and I have seen the trees on these initramfses. They do have the EDID inside, so that's not the issue.

And so, I added

video=VGA-1:1440x900@60

on my kernel parameters. I don't really know if I'm running on framebuffer or KMS or what the difference really is but this is the only way I've gotten my resolution to work on Sway or TTY while not using linux-lts in months.
