[SOLVED]Laptop does not hibernate when lid closes

I have been tinkering around trying to get my laptop to go into hibernate mode when I shut the lid. However the screen merely shuts off it does not lock or suspend (things like movies continue playing and the keyboard lights stay on).

I have been playing around with settings in /etc/systemd/logind.conf
here are its current contents

Edit:
I have also tried changing

HandleLidSwitch=hybrid-sleep
## To other things such as suspend and lock to no avail

I think that Powerdevil overrides logind.conf, have you tried configuring it via systemsettings?

systemsettings as in the the GUI version of systemsettings? because I haven't found anywhere in them that has anything related to putting the laptop into hybernate mode...

Post journalctl output around the time you close the lid.

Re: [SOLVED]Laptop does not hibernate when lid closes

I've already edited the /etc/systemd/logind.conf and whenever i do systemctl restart systemd-logind, nothing changes and the screen flashes between just a CLI and my DE (if that makes sense...)
