Bridging and iptables

Hi all,

Coming from the BSD world, and I'm new to Arch and don't know a whole lot about the Linux side of things. I was pretty facinated about how clean this distro is so I thought I'd give AL a try running a bridge and firewall on the same box, but all the docs I came across are pretty old and talk about applying a diff to certain kernels. I'm using kernel 2.6.3 now, are the patches still necessary for this, or has anyone setup something like this previously? A forum search didn't turn up any prior posts.
