 > sudo vi +29 /etc/rc.d/functions

I think it looks fine, and you can always just sed it yout if you don't like it, because it looks like you are the minority.

Same, that's why the mkinitcpio image uses it.

Sure. smile When you boot, there are informational/progress messages displayed: mounting fs, loading modules, starting daemons, etc. In front of each line there is a double colon '::'. It's just an estetic issue.

I don't like the default Arch boot message "style" at all, so I changed everything a bit.
But, it's still better than no color at all as in many distributions.

LOL...I was all expecting it to be ultra-technical.  I like them too, but don't really think about it much either way.

Yeah, I thought it'd be technical too smile Something about C++... nevermind.

Anyway, I like the ::, I also use that as a deliminator for horizontal navigation bars on websites.

I think it looks pretty sexy how it is. Arch is definitely my favorite startup system both configuration- and esthetic-wise.

I don't like '::'. Don't see any need in it. As for me '' is better.

As of this moment, treating "Don't Care" as an abstain:
yes: 41
no: 8
Yes / Total Votes = 0.83673

So, 83.673% of forum users that have taken the time to vote and have an opinion on the matter like it.  tongue

Me, I couldn't care either way.

IMHO, don't-care-ppl actually did voted, so they care little or nervous it. or too sick to answer about meaningless(to us: users) kernel printk ..
