I got my hands on an old 200mhz PC.. it's currently running FreeBSD and it's doing a great job. This makes Windows 95 look laughable. Then again, almost anything does.

Nothing special.

What about installing "gtk-chtheme" and changing the GTK theme ? Or maybe you like the default one...

hey ste,

also had set up a .gtkrc.mine file myself but it didnt get recognize o0
so i renamed to .gtkrc-2.0 and it worked.
another solution of course would be to create a link from ..... mine to ....rc-2.0 wink

What you could also do, if you have xfce installed, is add xfce-mcs-manager to your .xinitrc. It handles GTK+ settings and some other stuff, and easily lets you do stuff with the interface usign xfce-setting-show and going to the User Interface.

You've got to have

include "/home/user/.gtkrc.mine"

in you ~/.gtkrc-2.0 for this to work. If you use gtk-chtheme it will have this anyway but if you do it an other way it may not. Also if you're not using menu icons (gtk-menu-images=0) I'd bump the ythickness to 3 or 4 for GtkMenuItem, or your menus may look cluttered.
