Can someone please explain suspend-then-hibernate to me?

The wiki is not very exhaustive on this. I understand this is a recent addition to systemd that allows a "native" configuration whereby a laptop is suspended and after a certain interval it wakes up to hibernate. But how would I go about it? The man page doesn't include a detailed example either.. https://jlk.fjfi.cvut.cz/arch/manpages/ … rvice.8.en

How would you go about what?  using suspend-then-hibernate or configuring the delay between suspension and hibernation or configuring hibernation itself?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Po … _hibernate

It's all there.  Follow it.  If you get stuck somewhere, ask; but don't expect to have us read it to you step by step.

Suspend_and_hibernate#Hibernation is all that needs to be manually configured as explained by Power_management#Suspend_and_hibernate
