[SOLVED] Where to view dhcp log

It's my first post here, hello to everyone!

I installed Arch today and everything works fine. The only quirk I came across is dhcpcd issue: every time after the system starts, dhcpcd will try a few times and then fails. But I can always make it work by simply restart dhcpcd service, for a few times.
It's really weird and I suspect this has something to do with the dhcp management within my network. So I wonder where I can find dhcpcd'log to inspect. I tried journal but no luck.

Thanks in advance.

Try "journalctl -u dhcpcd".

Thanks for reply, but it's empty. "journal -u NetworkManager" is also empty. Where else can I view more detailed log?

What does "systemctl status dhcpcd" show?

dhcpcd.service - dhcpcd on all interfaces
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/dhcpcd.service; enabled; vendor preset: disabled)
Active: active (running) since Wed 2015-01-28 13:56:46 EST; 28s ago
  Process: 1966 ExecStop=/usr/bin/dhcpcd -x (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
  Process: 1970 ExecStart=/usr/bin/dhcpcd -q -b (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
 Main PID: 1972 (dhcpcd)
   CGroup: /system.slice/dhcpcd.service
           └─1972 /usr/bin/dhcpcd -q -b

BTW, this is the status after I manually restart the service.

Re: [SOLVED] Where to view dhcp log

Sounds like you have conflicting service.  Only enable one.  If you use dhcpcd to connect, disable networkmanager's systemd service or vice versa.  You should also read https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/systemd

1. Don't necrobump: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … bumping.22

2. Arch-ARM is a separate distribution, it is not supported here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=153431
