reaver WPS transaction failed code (0x03)....

Hi all. I have been testing out the aircrack suite to check the security (for starters) of my home wifi. However I have been running into an issue that I am unsure how to debug?

I start by using airmon-ng to kill any processes that could cause issues

$ airmon-ng check kill
Killing these processes:

  PID Name
27895 wpa_supplicant
28035 dhcpcd

Then I start my wireless card in monitor mode

$ airmon-ng start wlp0s20f0u3

PHY     Interface       Driver          Chipset

phy3    mon0            rt2800usb       Ralink Technology, Corp. RT2870/RT3070
phy3    wlp0s20f0u3mon  rt2800usb       Ralink Technology, Corp. RT2870/RT3070
phy0    wlp2s0          iwlwifi         Intel Corporation Wireless 8265 / 8275 (rev 78)

Ok great! All seems to be going ok so far! Now is when I look for any routers that have WPS enabled (excuse my verbiage if it is wrong)

wash -i mon0
BSSID Ch dBm WPS Lck Vendor ESSID

XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX  1  -71  2.0  No   Broadcom  Neighbor
XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX  1  -75  2.0  No   Broadcom  Neighbor

XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX  6  -61  2.0  No   AtherosC  Neighbor

And then is when I run into problems sad I attempt to run reaver and I all I see is the following (even after letting it run for hours...)

reaver -i mon0 -b  YY:YY:YY:YY:YY:YY -vv -S -c 2

I remember reading that this could be due to a proximity issue, so I tried moving the laptop to sitting basically ontop of the router to no avail. Any suggestions? or better methods?
