Re: Laptops which run Arch

Microtech e-book Pro N5000.
8GB RAM, 32GB eMMC + M.2 SSD slot, 802.11ac, 3xUSB3 (one is type-C), backlit keyboard, FHD display, 4 speakers.

The bluetooth adapter is resisting and the fingerprint scanner doesn't appear within the hw list.
But everything else is just great with Archlinux.

[UPDATE]
The bluetooth adapter works perfectly once the bluetooth service is enabled in systemd with

sudo systemd enable bluetooth
sudo systemd start bluetooth

Re: Laptops which run Arch

Lenovo T580

Have issues with GPU, struggling to make either nvidia proprietary or nouveau work, currently only on Intel embedded graphics. Fingerprint sensor is dead weight as well, no software is able to see it. All great otherwise, all else working fine. Using Arch for 6 months so far.

Re: Laptops which run Arch

I use a msi gp72mvr 7rfx-631de leopard pro and with a lot of work it is nice to use Arch on it.
Only difficult thing is getting the graphics running smoothly.

I run Arch on a Laptop: msi gp72mvr 7rfx-631de leopard pro.

Re: Laptops which run Arch

I'm using the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 i5 with 4GB of ram. Wifi, ethernet, sound, display, bluetooth are all working out of the box. The touchscreen needs some kernel patches, but overall I'm just blown away with the performance compared to the windows 10 installation (I can't get rid of the win10 installation, because Microsoft unfortunately only provides firmware updates through windows update)

Shoutout to all of the great ppl who maintain Arch, been using it for quite a long time on my desktop without any issues.

Re: Laptops which run Arch

I'm using ArchLinux for few months now without bigger issue on HP Spectre X360,
only the fingerprint reader doesn't work and two top speakers: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=189331;

Other than that, works great!

Re: Laptops which run Arch

I just installed Arch on my Surface Go (8GB RAM / 265GB SSD / LTE Modem)
almost everything works out of the box:

- cameras (front/back) won't work at this time
- wifi driver needs some work (replace a single file - see the reddit post on the surface go)
- i have not yet got the lte modem working (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=243022)

battery life is about 4-5h with screen brightness to almost max, watching a live stream and surfing.
