tftp+pxe using dnsmasq while sharing internet over eth from wireless

Hi All!

Question as topic subject.

KDE stable and NetworkManager (with plasma-nm).

S = SERVER
C = CLIENT

Setup is: MODEM/ROUTER--wifi-->S--eth-->C

Using NetworkManager GUI: from there I create a new  shared Ethernet connection. Ok.
Computer "C" gets its IP (10.42.0.nnn) and browse the internet. Ok.

Can you please explain me how to boot C via PXE (using built-in tftp of dnsmasq) using the setup above?

You might have added some more technical details.

post ip link and ip addr output from both server and client.
(10.x.y.z is  a private subnet and not reachable from outside your lan, no need to obfuscate that.)

Is dnsmasq installed on the server and have you configured tftp & pxe for it ?

What are you using to provide the root filesystem to the pxe-client ?

What is the purpose of the pxe boot : install archlinux , restore system to a predefined setup , diskless workstation/thin clien to name  a few options.

The PXE wiki page does have useful info, (re-)read it please..

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)
