BD Playback?

I would like to be able to play Blu-ray disks on my Arch install but can't seem to figure out how to do so. VLC complains about BD+ when I try and makemkv doesn't even find my BD or DVD drives, even when ran as root.

Could someone help me play BD disks? I tried following the wiki instructions,

KEYDB.cfg has a SHA512 of a0286ccbb387dd65c6e543ad965432a8132736a2ae594d7f5b422ce34bd7824f6178948f7d86944752e9611631289edadd21aa8cbdf33dceaf0de9fb1eecb2f9

Re: BD Playback?

Please don't post vague interpretations of error messages, post the actual error messages.

Also, post the full list of things you have tried. I'm not familiar with playing blurays, but the wiki page is quite lengthy, and it seems like there are an awful lot of caveats to playing them. Giving us as much information as you can will help us identify what (if anything) you are missing.

Sakura:-
Mobo: MSI MAG X570S TORPEDO MAX // Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @4.9GHz // GFX: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT // RAM: 32GB (4x 8GB) Corsair DDR4 (@ 3000MHz) // Storage: 1x 3TB HDD, 6x 1TB SSD, 2x 120GB SSD, 1x 275GB M2 SSD

Making lemonade from lemons since 2015.

Re: BD Playback?

makemkv-libaacs works for me and binds very well with VLC. But like WorMzy said, we need more info - how you initiate play, configurations, error output etc.

Attempted to play Avatar with VLC "Discs" menu, missing libaacs
Installed libaacs with pacman
Installed libbdplus with pikaur
Downloaded key DB
Tried to play Avatar again, something about libbdplus being broken
Uninstalled libbdplus
Tried to play again, no libbdplus error

Now I installed libbdplus, then removed it again and it plays. I have no idea why it works now. Hopefully it won't break now that is magically works.
