[SOLVED] network manager freezes everything (Broadcom wireless card)

I have been using arch for a year on my laptop (Dell xps 13 9343 with Broadcom BCM4352 wireless chip). A few days ago, it could not start any more. It would freeze at some random time before login. Occasionally it would survive through login, but running lspci would freeze everything. Eventually, I found that if I disable wifi at BIOS, then this problem is gone. Then I reinstalled arch, installed broadcom-wl-dkms and other necessary packages, and enabled the wl module. After this I could enable wifi at BIOS and use lspci or any other command on my laptop without any problem, as long as I do not use wifi.

If I start any network manager, everything would freeze. I have tried running NetworkManager, wcid, wifi-menu, netctl in terminals, and all of them would freeze the system. My wireless card is present in lspci, and ip link shows that wifi is up, and lsmod shows that wl is loaded.

Re: [SOLVED] network manager freezes everything (Broadcom wireless card)

Why is your wifi up w/ any network manager?
Exact output if "ip l"? (only UPs in the carets matter)

Does it work w/ the lts kernel?
Do you have a parallel windows installation?

Try to conduct a manual connection in order to see where things actually fall apart:

Re: [SOLVED] network manager freezes everything (Broadcom wireless card)

I only have arch installed in my laptop. No other OS is present.

I had to use my laptop's wifi pretty urgently, so I ended up buying another wireless card (Intel Wireless-Ac 9260) from amazon and replace my old Broadcom. It worked right out of the box. Spending $15 on a better-supported wireless card is much better than spending hours on fighting Broadcom smile. Thank you for your time and effort anyways.
