[SOLVED]KDE Plasma - Dark Theme(breeze) broken.

After the latest updates to KDE Plasma, the dark breeze theme is unreadable in some places. Mainly notifications and KDE app menu. It's extremely bright.

Don't really know how to describe it better. I will just putt link to the screenshot below:
https://prnt.sc/myml72

How it was before(not my screen):
https://www.fossmint.com/wp-content/upl … Ubuntu.png

Again only KDE app menu and notifications are affected everything else is still dark.

Can anyone else having this issue post the relevant parts of their pacman.log?

I'm curious if we could narrow down some of the suspect packages by comparing between different systems. My first thought is that this has something to do with one of the qt5 packages, but that's purely just a guess...

Re: [SOLVED]KDE Plasma - Dark Theme(breeze) broken.

the qt 5.12.2 update is a likely candidate, what happens if you rebuild breeze against it?

I'd second that. I have the exact same issue and the last update almost exclusively was qt  (cmake being the other part).

It seems to be a bit better (it's not as unreadable as before), but the backgrounds are still way too bright. And I don't have "before"-pictures from my machine so it can also be just my imagination, that it got better.

There is also a kde-bugreport (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405548) with an interesting observation: If you disable compositing (Alt+Shift+F12), the colors are back to normal. So it could very well be a problem with kwin (but it is certainly related to Qt).

Re: [SOLVED]KDE Plasma - Dark Theme(breeze) broken.

arojas assigned FS#62039 to the qt5-svg package. So the issue comes from that package.

Upgrading to plasma-framework 5.56.1-3 just solved this for me.

Re: [SOLVED]KDE Plasma - Dark Theme(breeze) broken.

Upgrading to plasma-framework 5.56.1-3 fixed breeze-dark for me, but for some reason my other breeze based themes are still broken (specifically breeze-alphablack).

Will update if I can figure anything more out...

Re: [SOLVED]KDE Plasma - Dark Theme(breeze) broken.

Yeah fixed for me after the update.

@bashM0nk3y alphablack is not an official theme. So I will be marking this thread as solved.

Re: [SOLVED]KDE Plasma - Dark Theme(breeze) broken.

One temporary solution I found is to select any other white theme, remove the dark theme, reinstall and apply it again. This atleast fixed the layout of BreezeAlphaBlack for me but clicking on the "Apply Colors" in the plasmoid breaks the theme once again.

Re: [SOLVED]KDE Plasma - Dark Theme(breeze) broken.

Its not fully fixed, backgrounds of tooltips (e.g. if you hover over the clock) are still wrong.
