Guest ArchLinux on ESXi 6.7U1

Does anyone have any experience with installing Arch as a guest on ESXi?

I have been trying this with ESXi 6.7U1 and

The option marked in red (Other Linux - 64 bit) pulls up the Archlinux ISO and allows me to install -- However, it won't allow me to select USB3 driver or the Paravirtual/VMXNET3 adapter

The option marked in green (Other 4.x or later Linux 64-bit) allows me to select the USB3 driver, Paravirtual/VMXNET3 adapter, but then just will not pull the the Archlinux Iso -- even when it has been set up correctly in the VM config and set to connect at start up.

Has anyone seen this and how can I get around this? I read a few ESXi related threads on this board, but didn't find anything relevant. Also, I am interested in the Paravirtual/VMXNET3 because the wiki says that it helps with performance.

The weird thing is that it only does not work for the 4.x option. I tried the Other 3.x Linux and the iso boots up just fine. I think, I'll just re-create my vm with a "3.x" instead of using the "4.x or later"

The last time I installed Arch as an ESXi guest was on 6.5, probably around 2016/2017, so it's possible things have changed. But, to make sure I understand correctly: Are you trying to conduct the installation via a virtual USB drive plugged into the VM? If you are, that should not be necessary; just download the ISO and pass it as a CD-ROM to the VM directly. That would allow you to continue with your second setup method (Other 5.x or later Linux 64-bit) with your desired choice of emulated USB and NICs.

No, I was just using the iso passed as a cd-rom to ESXi 6.7U1. I also don't have an option of Other 5.x or later Linux. Just 3.x and 4.x.  I had to create my VM using a 3.x to be able to install Arch.
