I have no idea what's going on. I was in a gnome session that got a bit fucky when I tried to run fallout New Vegas, so I just went for a reboot and now I can't get into a display manager to boot up any of my desktop environments or window managers. It just goes past grub into a screen with a flashing underscore in the top left and the ability to get into other ttys to do things.
I've updated the system, I've deleted some .exe files, and have attempted different display managers (I think my default was lightdm)
The closest I got was using CDM and I get this when I try and boot up any environment:
cdm-xlaunch: waiting for Console kit to Register X session.
dbus-monitor: unable to enable new-style monitoring: org.freedesktip.DBus.Error.AccessDenied: "Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method-call", sender="1.168" (uid=1000 pid=3226 comm="dbus-monitor --system type=signal, interface=org.fr") interface="org.freedesktop.DBus.Monitoring" member="BecomeMonitor" error name="(unset)" requested_reply="0" destination="org.freedesktop.DBus" (bus)" Falling back to eavesdropping.
I've tried running startx, it says Server terminated with error (1) (same with xinit)
Beyond that I'm just not sure what to try beyond a reinstall, but wanted to ask for help here first

Paste the actual Xorg.log, not a single line: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855

So, no idea how or why but I found what broke.
I had installed a package: lib32-primus_vk, and something about that, or its dependencies broke my system. Thank god i remembered, once i did a pacman -Rs on it i was able to get back into everything.
just for completions sake my Xorg.0.log.old is https://pastebin.com/Ar93vbz4 in case anyone can tell what happened. My hunch is something to do with bumblebee. no idea though
