[SOLVED] I cannot install Pixeluvo (qt4 package not found)

Hi,

I recently switched from Ubuntu to Arch and I'd like to use Pixeluvo app fro image editing (http://www.pixeluvo.com/). I used it on Ubuntu without any problems.
I tried to install it on Arch as follows:

git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/pixeluvo.git
cd pixeluvo
makepkg -si

and I saw the following error:

==> Making package: pixeluvo 1.6.0_2-1 (Wed 03 Jul 2019 12:59:10 AM CEST)
==> Checking runtime dependencies...
==> Installing missing dependencies...
error: target not found: qt4
==> ERROR: 'pacman' failed to install missing dependencies.

It says that qt4 package couldn't be found. I tried to install it, but with no luck. On Aur I can find qt in version 5 only. I tried to find any solution on the web, but none of them helped.
I really would like to keep using Arch and Pixeluvo at the same time.

I appreciate any help.

Regards,
Piotr

Please post error messages in English: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … s_and_code

qt4 is also an AUR package; you'll need to build/install that first...

Re: [SOLVED] I cannot install Pixeluvo (qt4 package not found)

You said that you tried to install QT, what was it that you tried to install?

Edit0: Asking for version and package name.

Re: [SOLVED] I cannot install Pixeluvo (qt4 package not found)

@Zod

I tried to install it as follows:

sudo pacman -S qt

and it installed correctly.

I also tried

sudo pacman -S qt4

but I've got the response that package was not found.

PS. I changed messages to English

Re: [SOLVED] I cannot install Pixeluvo (qt4 package not found)

The package is not found because pacman only searches the official repositories, not the AUR: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Aur

Re: [SOLVED] I cannot install Pixeluvo (qt4 package not found)

I installed all of this qt5 stuff (selection: default=all), but Pixeluvo relies on qt4 and this dependency is not resolved. I try to clone this git repo with qt4 (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/qt4/) tomorrow and install it again, but as far as I remember I already tried this and got the build error. I tried different things, so I'm not completely sure. I'll check it tomorrow.

Because, for the third time, it is an AUR package...

Re: [SOLVED] I cannot install Pixeluvo (qt4 package not found)

In the meantime might you have to uninstall QT5 and its unneeded dependencies before going for QT4?

When you start this tomorrow, please bring exact input/output with you.

Edit0:Clarification

Re: [SOLVED] I cannot install Pixeluvo (qt4 package not found)

I didn't wait until tomorrow because this issue was bothering me.

I removed qt5 package

sudo pacman -Rdd qt

Then, installed qt4

git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/qt4/
cd qt4
makepkg -si

This took a looong time and I kept getting many errors or warnings from C++ code in the output. It doesn't make sense to paste them here because I got dozens of these errors or maybe more.

Then, I got the following output

==> Tidying install...
