bspwm freezes erratically

I'm having bspwm erratically freeze on me, with no clear trigger. I can continue working in the window I'm in, but i can't change window focus, or move workspaces, or launch new programs. is there any likely problem here or any sort of debugging i can do?

Something similar happens to me when i'm using a certain module in polybar, did you install bspwm recently or this problem started happening after doing something?

I just installed bspwm. previously using qtile, herbstluftwm, and no issues. I am using polybar though; i could try using a different bar.

Did you check your ~/.xsession-errors ?
