Hi
Does anyone know how to do that? Xinput shows 3 devices instead of one and they are all three different than the name of the mouse.
Here are the three extra devices added when plugin in the mouse with the ps2 to usb converter
Barcode Reader id=25 [slave keyboard (3)]
Barcode Reader System Control id=27 [slave keyboard (3)]
Barcode Reader Consumer Control id=29 [slave keyboard (3)]None of them has an accel speed option so that i can change it.

No.

Also the device that's not there when you unplug the mouse is most likely the mouse.

Hi there
THe problem is that the ps2 to usb converter shows these 3 extra devices:
Barcode Reader id=25 [slave keyboard (3)]
Barcode Reader System Control id=27 [slave keyboard (3)]
Barcode Reader Consumer Control id=29 [slave keyboard (3)]None of them has an accelerator speed option. I don't know if it has to do with my converter. Can anyone else confirm this?

Barcode reader? Keyboard??
Did you try "xset m …" to control the acceleration?

Apparently the ps2 to usb converter gives a random device name.
Doesn't work since i am using wayland session

Does the compositor provide a related setting?
Otherwise you'll have to adjust /lib/udev/hwdb.d/* to detect the HW ids as mouse …

I have managed to do it. Apparently there was a device on the beginning of the xinput called "Barcode Reader Mouse" . I used that substring in my xorg custom config file to permanently set the acceleration to 1.0 . My trackball now flies with this acceleration. Great!
