wired connection not working, no-carrier

My wireless connection is working, but i can't estabilish wired one.
There is "no-carrier" message, but my cable is connected, and when i suspend my system
there is the diode shining above router's cable socket, but only then.
I have tried many things but nothing works for me.
Maybe someone will be able to help me with this issue.

Re: wired connection not working, no-carrier

Hello, can you post output of:

dmesg | grep ens5f5

Also, did you double check your cable wink
Do the lights flicker on your ethernet port?

Failure is success in progress.

Re: wired connection not working, no-carrier

Please post the output of dmesg ungrepped.  grepping output removes context https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=57855

Re: wired connection not working, no-carrier

Hello guys, thanks for the reply!

Sorry, this is the first time I feel that I really need help, so it's my first post here.
Here are dmesg logs: https://pastebin.com/jjPU2yE1

grepped output:

[ 17.709554] jme 0000:05:00.5 ens5f5: renamed from eth0
[ 27.671546] jme 0000:05:00.5 ens5f5: Link is down

My router's ethernet port light is on, but ONLY when I suspend my machine.
I tried another cable - the same story.
I can't check from live cd right now

[ 17.357314] jme 0000:05:00.5: can't disable ASPM; OS doesn't have ASPM control

Does the system dual boot with Windows?  If so is Fast Start Up disabled?

Re: wired connection not working, no-carrier

It was dual boot with windows 7, but I formatted windows partition and now it's linux only.

Re: wired connection not working, no-carrier

nb. that
a) this means you got no gigabit connection
b) the change is not permanent, you'll have to re-apply this w/ the next reboot, eg. using a udev rule: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Udev

Re: wired connection not working, no-carrier

Yeah I read your link from askubuntu
a) speedtest tells me that my download speed is 2x, so it's win
This machine is a toaster. I'm gonna change it in a few years and I'll remember not to buy JMC chip.
I have not disposed of it yet, because of sentiment only.
b) I'm on it right now
