What is vloopback-1.3, what does the makefile look like, and how was it "configured"?
Please also post the full output, not just the bit you think is relevant.

i'm still a beginner, trying to understand. As i understand, it should enable a webcam to work with video software such as motion and ivideon.
A usb webcam is (i believe) considered a V4L2 device. On my arch, the Qt V4L2 Test Utility reports the following about my webcam:
Device
/dev/video0 (wrapped)
Card
USB Camera (093a:2620)
Driver
gspca_pac7302
Bus
usb-0000:00:1d.1-1
vloopback site says the following:
"the Video4Linux loopback driver implements a video pipe using two video4linux devices. The first device is used by the program supplying the data. The second device acts as if it were a normall video4linux device, it should be usable by any application that honours the video4linux specifications."

Thx for that, have you tried it? I'm not having any luck.
I installed with pakku (instead of manually compiling).
Then doing
modprobe v4l2loopback
modprobe gspca_pac7302Cam still not getting detected.
Any suggestions?
thx

This is almost certainly an XY problem. What is the camera you are using and which application are you attempting to use it with?
You also forgot code tags in your last post.
Offline
the cam type and driver is in my post above
(i'll add the missing code tags)

I was hoping for the output of lsusb including the VID and PID. The application you wish to use with the device you assert is a Pixart PAC7302 USB Camera would be?

That's an unsolved thread. Which part of that thread are you suggesting may have my solution?
What is the camera you are using and which application are you attempting to use it with?
The cam make/model is jwin JC-AM100
As I mentioned in my post above, trying to use it with video software such as motion and ivideon.
It displays live video in the Qt V4L2 Test Utility, no problem.
Offline
Yes you mentioned motion but not if you are using the package from the repositories and if so what version or ivideon is from an AUR package if so which one and again what version.
This is also the first time you have mentioned that any application is able to use the device.
You start ivideon then what? Similarly motion.
Look back at the information you have provided so far. Would you be able to reproduce the issue you have only given the information you have provided?

My apologies, i'll try to do better at providing as much info as possible.

Did the proposed solution from 276 which was 279/337 not work?
Edit:
Just to be clear you have tested with the device configured via netcam?
Edit2:
To address why the patch fails. It is for a decade old version. Since then files have been renamed / changed and it no longer applies.
