turboprint - why doesn't work? [solved]

hi all,

i'm triying to make my Canon PIXMA MP110 work with arch (it's a multidevice, but i don't even hope to make it fully functional under linux - printing will be enough)

i connect it via usb. dmesg follows:
usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3
usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 3 if 1 alt 0 proto 2 vid 0x04A9 pid 0x1700

i set it to /dev/usb/lp0 in xtpsetup, it displays that printer is started but when i try to print testpage, it writes "Printer not connected; will retry in 30 seconds..." and this message stays all the time sad

how could i diagnose what happens?

Re: turboprint - why doesn't work? [solved]

I sometimes had to try a different device before I could get my canon i965 to work correctly and keep swapping it around, but had no problems since version 1.94-4

My device is shown as usb://canon/i965 not sure if your device needs to be similar
