[SOLVED] No wireless interface on a ThinkPad T480

The title says it all. On a fresh install of Arch Linux on a Thinkpad T480, where everything else seems to be working fine, there is no wireless interface when entering "iwconfig".

Here is the output of "iwconfig":

enp0s31f6  no wireless extensions.

lo        no wireless extensions.

As you can see, there is nothing to connect to wifi. The strange thing is, I could connect to wifi during the installation process, but something during the install must have broken it.

Here is the output of "ifconfig":

enp0s31f6: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST>  mtu 1500
        inet 192.168.1.86  netmask 255.255.255.0  broadcast 192.168.1.255

Here is the output of "lspci"

I really don't know how to interpret all of this, because I'm fairly new to Linux, but if someone could help me solve this problem it'd be great. Let me know if you need anymore information.

Re: [SOLVED] No wireless interface on a ThinkPad T480

Problem appears looks to be at low level, kernel or hardware.

Post output of

$ lspci -k # it helps to know which kernel modules are used by hardware
$ ip link
$ ip address

Also dmesg or journalctl -b ( will be large, use a pastebin client )

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)

Re: [SOLVED] No wireless interface on a ThinkPad T480

I solved the problem. Turns out I had just forgotten to install the 'linux-firmware' package containing the firmware that allows my computer's wireless to work.
