[Close]After upgrading the system, steam games cannot be opened.

We did an upgrade today.We did an upgrade today. Then two games in steam that were normally open couldn't be opened.

1:Mount & Blade:Warband

Click start after the game flash back.

I have a similar problem which seems to be related to setup. Games work fine in Proton 4.11, but not in 5.0. I was getting "wine: could not open working directory L"unix\\home\\paulr\\.local\\share\\Steam\\"" messages. However, when I ran a game in 4.11 and switched back to 5.0 it worked fine so it seems to be some sort of initialisation thing (I'm not using NTFS partitions, a known problem)

Now it is clear rimworld itself dumps core.
To get more info why it does that, try starting it manually .

start an x-terminal, navigate to the folder where Start_RimWorld.sh and RimWorldLinux files are installed (probably /home/taizongh/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/RimWorld/ )

from that folder run

LC_ALL=C ./RimWorldLinux -logfile /home/taizongh/rimworld_log

post terminal output and contents of /home/taizongh/rimworld_log (may be  a long file, consider using a Pastebin client

It is quite trivial, the easiest (but will be reverted on alsa-lib update, but from the activity on the bug report, the underlying bug will likely be fixed when that happens) is to do this: https://github.com/alsa-project/alsa-li … -590064611 to disable the entries.

Looks like it's more than that ; I've tried the surround fix and the problem persists. However, the downgrade/run/upgrade thing does work.

Would downgrade/run/upgrade specific how to operate it, I tried many ways.

If you happen to run a wayland desktop, m&b warband will not launch unless you disable anti-alising from the configuration tool, same goes for europa universalis iv. In addition i had to install fmodex libraries from aur for m&b to work.
