How can i know which permissions it should have ?
Permissions are the things I master the less, so here are extra stat in case of ...

Re: [SOLVED] Lightdm loop / No greeter / bad layout / Boot stuck

https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/ … UILD?h=dwm - it's installed as 644

Can you login now that the dmrc changed? You should no longer get

[+12.57s] DEBUG: Seat seat0: Failed to find session configuration default
[+12.57s] DEBUG: Seat seat0: Can't find session 'default'

for sure.

I can login now, but dwm does not show, and I putting back to the greeter after a 4~5sec blackscreen.

Re: [SOLVED] Lightdm loop / No greeter / bad layout / Boot stuck

In the default /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf there is a line:

session-wrapper=/etc/lightdm/Xsession

Which would transform

[+10.84s] DEBUG: Session pid=611: Running command lightdm-session dwm

to

[+10.84s] DEBUG: Session pid=611: Running command /etc/lightdm/Xsession dwm

That line appears to be missing on your system.
Edit:
Current default lightdm.conf with comments removed

[LightDM]
run-directory=/run/lightdm

[Seat:*]
session-wrapper=/etc/lightdm/Xsession

[XDMCPServer]

[VNCServer]

Re: [SOLVED] Lightdm loop / No greeter / bad layout / Boot stuck

Wow, thanks for your edit: I was about to post how it still didn't work, but putting this option at the right place ([Seat:*]) make it work. Thats so cool, and dwm show up so fast !
Still have to adjust locales and this intempestive standby when booting on my external monitor only, but it may be out the bounds of this thread, isn't it ?

Edit: I think using localctl will quickly resolve this issue but I don't understand why the process described in the guide isn't enough ?

If you have some advice about log to look at for the "standby" issue, I would be more grateful than ever, if it wasn't the case yet !

Re: [SOLVED] Lightdm loop / No greeter / bad layout / Boot stuck

I don't understand why the process described in the guide isn't enough ?

What process described where exactly?

If you have some advice about log to look at for the "standby" issue,

System journal after/of such boot, but please open a new thread on this (providing the relevant journal) - there's a general "one issue per thread" rule.

Re: [SOLVED] Lightdm loop / No greeter / bad layout / Boot stuck

Ok I think I have finally understood.
Setting the locale.gen and stuff are available for tty only, while for X some more configuration are requested. At least, this is what I guessed.
Running "localectl set-x11-keymaps layout" was needed to create persistent graphical configuration under /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-keyboard.conf.

For my second issue, the answer was here : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Po … CPI_events

Thanks a lot Seth and Loqs, I learned a lot with you.

Re: [SOLVED] Lightdm loop / No greeter / bad layout / Boot stuck

"locale.gen and stuff" are for the locale, ie. the language of outputs and interfaces, also some sorting, unit delimiters, ...
They're not abot your keyboard at all.

vconsole.conf configures the console keymap, but does not affect X11 - as I mentioned in https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 2#p1906402 ;-)
