After upgrading to alsa 1.2.3.x the sound on my computer is broken. I can not even play simple wav files with aplay:
ALSA lib confmisc.c:1281:(snd_func_refer) Unable to find definition 'defaults.pcm.tstamp_type'
ALSA lib conf.c:4743:(_snd_config_evaluate) function snd_func_refer returned error: No such file or directory
ALSA lib conf.c:5231:(snd_config_expand) Evaluate error: No such file or directory
ALSA lib pcm.c:2660:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM dmix:Generic
aplay: main:830: audio open error: No such file or directory
Downgrading to version 1.2.2-1 immediately solves the issue:
pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/alsa-topology-conf-1.2.2-2-any.pkg.tar.zst /var/cache/pacman/pkg/alsa-ucm-conf-1.2.2-1-any.pkg.tar.zst /var/cache/pacman/pkg/alsa-lib-1.2.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst /var/cache/pacman/pkg/alsa-utils-1.2.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst /var/cache/pacman/pkg/lib32-alsa-lib-1.2.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
I'm using the onboard soundchip of MSI B450M Mortar Max
What might go wrong here?
Cheers, Zmann

Stop using and remove any config created by asoundconf.
...And search the boards before posting:

@V1del: Thanks for the quick answer.
I searched the boards before posting but I was assuming an error in the update process, so I used the filter 'Pacman and Package Upgrade Issues' and the keyword alsa. This did not yield a result with a recent date, so I assumed a new error. Sorry for the confusion.
