xorg no usable screens found

Xorg refuses to start up saying no usable screens were found. I had to disable kms in order to get Arch to let me login. I want to post the log, but I only have access to the cli. How do I post it?

In addition to posting the Xorg log, please describe your configuration: e.g., what's your video hardware and what driver(s) are you using, and how are you attempting to start X (startx/xinit, or a DM, etc).

I'm afraid I'm not sure what driver I'm using. All I did was install the Xorg group and i3.

What instructions did you follow to initially install your system?

You should know what driver you are using as you should have installed (and configured) it following the wiki:

I used the installation guide on the wiki. Then I just installed the xorg group and xorg-xinit and i3. It looks like the only driver installed is the vesa driver. My VGA controller is [AMD/ATI] Picasso (rev c1).

Ok, now follow the Xorg page I linked to to properly install and configure Xorg: most notably this includes - but is not necessarily limited to - installing the proper video driver.

I tried xf86-video-amdgpu, xf86-video-ati, and the xorg-drivers group. I only restarted for the first one. Not sure if that matters. No difference.

The instructions were not just to install random packages and hope for the best. Follow the wiki instructions. Really. Follow them.

Just to point out what shoudl be obvious: you still have "nomodeset" in the xorg log you posted…
