No upload speed

Hi everybody,

I am running Arch Linux on my laptop that's connected to the web via a router (FritzBox).
While uploads work perfectly fine when I am using my mobile phone on the Laptop it is almost zero.
Downloads work without any problem.

Sadly I couldn't find any information regarding this problem online or in this forum.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: No upload speed

Could be any number of things. The output of these commands would be useful to start:

ip -s link

iw wlan0 info

(replace wlan0 with the name of your wifi interface as given by the ip link command)

Re: No upload speed

Maybe you should define what you mean by "uploads are almost zero".

Is that based on a local performance test? Internet? What were the results?

My router and my phone both have an upload speed of  35,5 Mbit/s while an online test measured an upload speed of 0,03 Mbit/s for my laptop.

Re: No upload speed

http://hgd-speedtest-1.tele2.net/

cd /tmp # run this from a tmpfs to rule out disk issues
curl ftp://speedtest.tele2.net/100MB.zip -o speedtest.zip
curl -T speedtest.zip ftp://hgd-speedtest-1.tele2.net/upload/speedtest.zip

There are more (smaller/bigger) test files, see ftp://hgd-speedtest-1.tele2.net/

This is the data for the 1MB file:

Re: No upload speed

I just dusted off my old laptop that also runs Arch and it shows the same problems.
I also tested my new Laptop with other WiFi's and I have no problems there.
It has to be a setting that is wrong.

Re: No upload speed

Does the old laptop have a QCA9377 as well?
Do "other WiFi's" run on 5GHz or 2.4GHz?

Re: No upload speed

So entirely different chip…

You've normal™ 1500 mtu, so that's not it.
Does

cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_congestion_control

say "cubic"?
