Hello,
I'm new to LDAP, and I'm trying to create a LDAP network with two Arch Linux VMs, in QEMU
Both VMs can ping each other.
Following the wiki, I set up the server. Now I'm trying to set up the client.
Here is /etc/openldap/slapd.conf
#
# See slapd.conf(5) for details on configuration options.
# This file should NOT be world readable.
#
include /etc/openldap/schema/core.schema
include /etc/openldap/schema/cosine.schema
include /etc/openldap/schema/inetorgperson.schema
include /etc/openldap/schema/nis.schema
# Define global ACLs to disable default read access.
# Do not enable referrals until AFTER you have a working directory
# service AND an understanding of referrals.
#referral ldap://root.openldap.org
pidfile /run/openldap/slapd.pid
argsfile /run/openldap/slapd.args
# Load dynamic backend modules:
# modulepath /usr/lib/openldap
# moduleload back_mdb.la
# moduleload back_ldap.la
# Sample security restrictions
# Require integrity protection (prevent hijacking)
# Require 112-bit (3DES or better) encryption for updates
# Require 63-bit encryption for simple bind
# security ssf=1 update_ssf=112 simple_bind=64
# Sample access control policy:
# Root DSE: allow anyone to read it
# Subschema (sub)entry DSE: allow anyone to read it
# Other DSEs:
# Allow self write access
# Allow authenticated users read access
# Allow anonymous users to authenticate
# Directives needed to implement policy:
# access to dn.base="" by * read
# access to dn.base="cn=Subschema" by * read
# access to *
# by self write
# by users read
# by anonymous auth
#
# if no access controls are present, the default policy
# allows anyone and everyone to read anything but restricts
# updates to rootdn. (e.g., "access to * by * read")
#
# rootdn can always read and write EVERYTHING!

database mdb
maxsize 1073741824
suffix "dc=clubinfo,dc=com"
rootdn "cn=admin,dc=clubinfo,dc=com"
# Cleartext passwords, especially for the rootdn, should
# be avoid. See slappasswd(8) and slapd.conf(5) for details.
# Use of strong authentication encouraged.
# The database directory MUST exist prior to running slapd AND
# should only be accessible by the slapd and slap tools.
# Mode 700 recommended.
directory /var/lib/openldap/openldap-data
# Indices to maintain
index objectClass eq
rootpw {SSHA}dInwm53S0DflAtBGsqFNWjO6/54605eW
index uid pres,eq
index mail pres,sub,eq
index cn pres,sub,eq
index sn pres,sub,eq
index dc eqI added an user with an LDIF file, it seems to work fine.
So here is /etc/openldap/openldap.conf on the client
#
# LDAP Defaults
#
# See ldap.conf(5) for details
# This file should be world readable but not world writable.
BASE dc=clubinfo,dc=com
URI ldap://192.168.1.10
#SIZELIMIT 12
#TIMELIMIT 15
#DEREF never(ip address of the server is 192.168.1.10 and client 192.168.1.11)
So when I try to run ldapsearch on the client, I get this beautiful error:
ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: Can't contact LDAP server (-1)note I didn't reboot.
There's no firewall on any of the guests, slapd is active and running on the server, and I can ldapsearch on the server with no problem at all.
Any ideas?
Offline
(even after rebooting the client it doesn't work)
