KDE desktop background only starts half way up the screen

I updated some things a few days ago and since then every time I boot my desktop looks like this. I can get it to go away by opening System Settings -> Display Configuration then moving my two screens a little and applying (forcing a restart/refresh of the display manager, I guess?).

For reference, the right hand desktop is (supposed to be) longer in the vertical direction, whereas the left is longer in the horizontal direction. Here is a picture of the desktop when it is correctly configured. The screenshot shows the screen appears to be the equivalent "bounding box" whereas the combined desktop area is not actually rectangular. Maybe that's a clue.

I don't really know where to start looking for problems. Does anyone have an idea what's going on?

It's a known Qt issue

Is this a new bug? As I say it only started a few days ago for me. Got a link to a bug tracker by any chance?
